"In 1942 world events first brought our two nations together when Solomon Islanders and American Servicemen fought side by side in the Guadalcanal and Solomon Islands campaign.

We shared many common hardships before the final victory was won. The people of the Solomon Islands have never forgotten our American friends.

My government and the people of the Solomon's are very pleased to invite you to visit the historic sites of those times.
